A warm welcome to the Enactus Shared Resources page providing Enactus project teams all over the UK with project management specific tools and resources aimed at helping work towards the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The PMI UK Chapter have been partnering with Enactus for several years and this year we have stepped things up even further.

Kickoff

Kickoff is a 45-minute digital course and tool kit that guides you through the basics of project management, so you can effectively launch your project(s) from start to finish.

Project Management for Beginners 

Project Management for Beginners is an introductory course that will provide an overview of project management terminology and includes foundational topics such as:

The importance of projects
How environments influence project success
The role of the project manager
An introduction to the 10 Knowledge Areas found in the PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition

What is Enactus?

Enactus UK supports students & young people across the country to engage in social action and social enterprise. Their mission in the UK is to be recognised as a leader in developing a national network of socially minded young leaders of the future, who transform communities and society through real life social action and environmentally responsible enterprise.

Enactus are dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. The Enactus network of global business, academic and student leaders are unified by our vision - to create a better, more sustainable world

Enactus have an established university programme which has been running since 2001 and now operates in over 60 universities across the UK, engaging up to 3,000 students each year.

How are Enactus & PMI UK working together?

Our current focus is to offer our Chapter volunteers the opportunity to 'learn by doing' through their involvement in local, Enactus projects. We have run a number of briefing calls on this, involving both the volunteers who applied / expressed keen interest and our Enactus colleagues. The outcome is our first cohort of 24 volunteers have been successfully deployed onto Enactus projects across the UK.

Given the interest levels we have a considerable number of other volunteers who we are intending to offer either a coaching opportunity / or engage virtually with a team that are perhaps not as local to them as we had hoped (given our focus on in-person volunteering). We have a similar number in this position.

As a further opportunity we have offered all Chapter members the opportunity to judge either the first round, semi-final or finals of this years Expo. Over 50 have volunteered to do so and actively participated in one of the many briefing / virtual judging sessions. We also plan to offer judges a more long term opportunity and in fact already have had a few expressions of interest.

We also expect to support the various Enactus training events throughout year. Our immediate priorities are now to 1) make sure all volunteers are loaded into VRMS, once settled in their roles and 2) establish regular catch up calls with the 60-80 volunteers we anticipate will extend their involvement beyond the Expo judging.

Once we have our cohorts 1&2 in place the next step will be to leverage these volunteers and the obvious connection they have with their local university / faculty to explore joint (in-person) events across students, practitioners and faculty with the ambition of offering a truly national network of events for our members leveraging university premises up and down the UK, and hopefully linking this into our overall branch strategy as that develops.
