Major Projects Association event: QUBE@Work: How to Plan in a More Uncertain World. 18th February 2021

In 2021 we recognise the need for transformational outcomes in the way we live and work over the coming years:

• moving from a nine-to-five, office bound experience to a far more flexible, deliver from anywhere, approach (that doesn’t simply morph into always on but allows time for us)
•  adapting from a transactional model of project working to one that genuinely enables collaboration across a supply chain
• replacing risk aversion and forceable risk transfer to risk literacy and embracing the risk of failure
• moving to a zero carbon model for the whole project lifecycle and the implication that this is far more than simply replacing fossil fuels with less damaging forms of energy generation

We need to be able to plan these outcomes as projects if we are to have any hope of    delivering them within a meaningful timescale, a managed level of cost and of taking  our stakeholders with us.

Our first QUBE@Work session of 2021 will introduce you to some of the features of  Quests and Foggy Projects, the project types for which we increasingly need to  adapt. We’ll then use a classic QUBE PET (essentially a facilitation tool) called Sticky  Steps to learn how you can realistically plan for the most transformational of projects. 

These regular workshop sessions (QUBE@Work runs on the third Thursday of every other month) will provide you with a platform to explore and develop personal and organizational approaches to working in major projects. You'll experience and practise the skills of working in a (3D immersive) virtual environment. Finally, this is an opportunity to meet and work collaboratively with your peers from across other major projects.
