Joint PMI UK & Major Projects Association Webinar: Reinventing Webinars: Tips & Tricks for Online Meeting Design and Delivery. 1st October 2020

01-10-2020 12:30 pm -1:30 pm
Free

Are you ever bored or distracted during webinars? Do you quickly zone out or leave if a presentation doesn’t ‘float your boat’? Maybe you stay just long enough to obtain the PDU code for a unit of professional development? We know some webinars can feel like a dirge. Death by PowerPoint, endless bullet points, shown on complicated impenetrable slides!

Alternatively, you may have attended webinars where the speaker hooked you in from the start, made you feel involved throughout, and left you with a STAR (something that you will always remember)? Let’s hope so.
Many of us have been thrust, kicking, and screaming, into a new world of virtual presentations as presenters, panellists, moderators, hosts, event organisers and even production teams - all without professional training!
With some careful planning it is possible to master roles such as; tech support, engagement specialist and online chat show host, whilst working together as a team to design and deliver compelling must-attend events that create value for participants and leave a lasting legacy.
In this session, we draw on our experience from more than 100 webinars to:
  1. Identify good practice for online event production
  2. Demonstrate the capabilities necessary to produce high-stakes virtual events
  3. Reflect on (sometimes painful) lessons learned and our long list of do’s and don’ts
  4. Provide a ‘behind the scenes peak’ at the GoToWebinar platform and Mentimeter
  5. Share some practical take-aways

Joint PMI UK & Major Projects Association Webinar: How to get started in project data analytics. 8th October 2020

08-10-2020 12:00 pm -1:00 pm
Free

As projects proceed through their life-cycle, they create an exhaust plume of data that is a by-product of delivery. By pooling this data and applying advanced data analytics and AI, it can be analysed to develop predictive insights and recommendations, tailored to the phase and specific circumstances of a project.

But is project data analytics hype or reality? Only you can decide, but what is for certain, is that it is disruptive and could have a significant impact on your career in the way we deliver projects and how you work. Unfortunately, it is often shrouded in jargon and it all sounds very daunting. Within this masterclass, James provided a range of insights into:

  • The potential impact of project data analytics.
  • How to prepare yourself for the new future.
  • How to get started.

Advanced project data science and analytics have the potential to change the face of project management and project delivery forever. But the project management profession is slow to catch on. Together, we can shape a new future; let’s make it happen.

Project Data Analytics: Panel Session: Data Analytics and Project Controls. Opportunity or Threat? 14th October 2020

14-10-2020 6:30 pm -8:00 pm
Free

In our October meetup we will be hosting a panel session bringing together some of the leading minds in project management and project controls to discuss the impact of advanced data analytics and AI on their discipline.

There is a wide range of perspectives on how project controls will evolve. Some people believe that AI will provide additional tools to help existing project controls professionals. Others believe that the industry will be fundamentally reinvented through a more statistics and evidence driven approach.

Are we entered in a new era?
How disruptive will it be?
How will we need to adapt?
Will a new cadre of professional emerge?
What are the opportunities for data professionals?

Although we strive for diversity in our meetup, we often struggle - we have a lot of male speakers. So in this session we are delighted to be able to host an all female panel comprising the following hugely impressive line up.

PMI UK Webinar: Maintaining your mental wellbeing during this season. 26th October 2020

26-10-2020 12:00 pm -1:00 pm

It is estimated that 1 in 4 people will experience mental ill health each year which anxiety, depression or panic attack in any given week.

This results in a challenge and also an opportunity for organisations to strengthen the mental wellbeing of their employees. Organisations that invest in strategies and proactively protect and care for the mental wellbeing challenges will reap the rewards of a robust and resilient workforce.

Whether large or small every project is done through people. Project Human Resource Management includes the processes that organise and manage the people who have assigned roles and responsibilities for completing the project.
