Project Data Analytics Event: AI for project cost risk– The reality of commercial use. 8th July 2020

08-07-2020 12:30 pm -2:00 pm
Free

There is no shortage of commentary and ‘vision’ about the way in which AI will impact projects and project managers. At present only a few companies have developed working platforms for time and/or cost management, with the majority being pre-commercial.

This presentation will focus on the lived experience of developing and implementing an AI platform in a customer organisation. David will cover issues that have had practical impact such as paradigm change, problem definition, data availability, response from professionals using the system and return on investment.

PMI UK Webinar: 'Dancing With Disruptive Conflict'. Taking Charge of Conflict in The Workplace for Optimised outcomes. 15th July 2020

15-07-2020 12:00 pm -1:00 pm
Free

Do you react or respond to Conflict situations at work? Reaction is the manifestation of emotional knee jerk patterns, or, do you typically respond with reason and enquiry in order to make best use of the situation? Be honest, most of us have had no training in being powerful around conflict and tension.

This event will demonstrate why we are so awkward with conflict, why that matters in terms of our requirement to ‘disrupt’, what it costs on a human scale and how to raise your capability in being able to dance with light feet around conflict to leverage it as a force for opportunity (versus a destructive dark side!).

Project Data Analytice Event: Project data analytics does not happen by accident. 22nd July 2020

22-07-2020 6:30 pm -8:00 pm
Free

Some people have the opinion that flashy AI and analytics tools are the essential ingredient to enable Project Data Analytics as a discipline to deliver value to our wider stakeholders.

Using examples from major investment programmes he has been involved in, Julian Schwarzenbach will try and redress the balance of priorities for Project Data Analytics to increase understanding of the importance of data in the overall approach.

Mentoring Programme

PMI UK has skilled Mentors and enthusiastic Mentees who are looking to share knowledge and improve their professional capabilities. The PMI UK mentoring scheme supports willing Mentors and Mentees by connecting them to develop their professional skills in project, program, and portfolio management. This is a voluntary scheme that succeeds through the interest, passion, and commitment of those involved.

Practice Standards

PMI standards answer questions such as: How does your organisation’s project management compare to good practice? And what steps might you take to improve? What are the key elements of Project Manager competency? What do you need to know to be a competent Project Manager or competent in another project management discipline? PMI’s global standards carry the collective knowledge of the profession, based on input from thousands of practitioners. These standards are widely accepted and, when consistently applied, they help you, your global peers and your organization achieve professional excellence. See the full suite of standards at PMI.org.
