Get to rely on your people
Are you trying to make sense of ‘soft skills’? Here’s the missing link.

Have you ever asked people, close to an ailing project, why it is evidently going down hill? The answer will often refer to a leader group that has been unable to achieve the progress that people are expecting. And when you enquire about another project, a successful one this time, the focus is likely to be the same. They tell you about another leader group; one that is cohesive, loyal, energetic, informed, focused and working close; as one.

Why are so many people so lukewarm about projects? Project management can seem very dry and technical. For many, it’s all about the charts, the equations, the budgets, the reports. The people and the passion can so easily get lost along the way.
