John Pelham PMP - Steering or Interfering?
Just what is the role and purpose of a “Steering Group”? Surely that’s obvious isn’t it - to “steer”. Why is it then that when I raise the subject with a client group I repeatedly hear; “My steering group won’t stop interfering”, or “We have 20+ people on our steering group and they never make a decision”, or, “There’s so much infighting amongst steering group members that it’s best to just ignore them and get on with the job!”, or, “We have too many steering groups”
