A belated Happy New Year to all our members, I hope you are starting off the year refreshed and ready to roll.  The UK Chapter Board met early in the first week of January to set our goals for the year more of which you'll hear later.

Apologies for the mix up with the AGM dates that went out in the recent e-mail.  It should of course be Wednesday 7th March not Tuesday.  The London Committee have still to confirm the venue for their event, so keep watching the London events page for more information about this.

London Events Committee Call for Speakers

The London Events Committee are looking for speakers to present at their monthly events in 2012. The committee seeks to strike a balance of contributions representing sectors, practitioners, consultants, roles and new developments. Speakers, of course, need to be accomplished in terms of the subject they wish to address and in their ability to communicate and manage a presentation. We can promise you a receptive audience and we encourage a participative style to the event. If you are interested please complete the attached Call for Speakers form and return to service@pmi.org.uk and a member of the committee will be in touch to discuss opportunities shortly.

Construction in the Energy Industry debates

The board are considering working wth an organisation who run a day of debates around construction in the energy industry. We are trying to guage interest in this so if you are an experienced practitioner in this field and you would like to be considered as a speaker please contact duncan.chappell@pmi.org.uk.

What's your most used PM reference book

A colleague at work asked me to recommend a top 10 list of PM books - I have one or two I turn to from time to time, but I couldn't name 10.  If you have a favourite few that you use when you need to check something out, please let us know at service@pmi.org.  Please tiltle your e-mail as "Favourite PM book".  We will collate them and let you know the PMI UK members top 10.
