Scottish Project Management Survey now available!

20 April 2010

Clarion Consulting, in association with the Scotland Programmes Committee of the PMI UK Chapter, has carried out a survey of project management in Scottish organisations.  The survey results revealed the majority of participant organisations view project management as a key strategic tool.  Most had a PMO and a standard methodology for project management.  However many participants scored their organisations low on project management capability.  We see a familiar story of how PM is genuinely valued, but that is not matched by commitment to and investment in training.

Clearly there is much to do to convince CEOs to invest in PM training and certification.  Promoting the benefits to the organisation, and more importantly, the individual, of PM certification is a challenge for all of us in the PMI community.

Pat Millar, Managing Director, presented the results at the half day PMI event in Edinburgh on 22 March.  Lively debate ensued.

The survey is now available here - PDF file Scottish PM Clarion Survey.
