PMI UK Chapter Board collaborate with the Project Management National Occupational Standards (NOS) Cross-Sector Review

Simon Robertson, Director of Professional Development, represented the PMI UK Board at the latest review held in London on 232rd July 2010. The review came about at the direction of the UK Vocational Qualification Reform Programme (UKVQRP) Board who charged the UK Commission to come up with a strategy to ensure future vocational qualifications are based on clear and consistent specifications of employers’ requirements.
PMI UK Chapter Board have agreed to financially support and collaborate with the UK Commission review panel in this aim. Further it was acknowledged that PMI could assist significantly in the development of PM NOS both in the UK and in Europe. Although NOS cannot be seen as a benchmark on best practice, nor on definitive professional standard it is acknowledged as a benchmark for Project Management Competence. To this end PMI UK have pledged to assist and shape the development of this benchmark on Project Management competency.
